About the Save Cockfosters campaign

The Mayor of London has instructed TfL to close a swathe of Station Car Parks across north London and develop them for housing.

For Cockfosters this will mean:

1) The loss of the valuable Park and Ride amenity FOREVER with ramifications for all transport users and our residents.

2) Replacing it with four tower blocks up to 14 storeys containing 351 homes and at least 1000 people.

3) Building on a protected Conservation Area next to the historically and culturally significant Trent Park

This massive, inappropriately dense development will permanently blight our lives and the lives of the many that enjoy the semi-rural setting of Cockfosters. TfL wants to put a 14-storey tower block and three others next to the Green Belt, in a Conservation Area adjacent to a Grade II listed station.

The idea is that the properties will be built on the existing 400-space car park. They will be 100% rental and 100% of the residents will have no parking space. The Park and Ride facility at Cockfosters, which has existed since the station opened in 1933, will be removed forever.

We are a group of local residents standing up against TfL to stop this atrocious plan. Please join our campaign.
